Hypnosis and Past Life Regression
Hypnosis and trance are names for a natural state of consciousness during which the mind becomes relaxed and less analytical than in the waking state, entering into what might be called "passive attention". If you have ever become so immersed in a television program that you lost track of time or didn't hear your name when it was called, you are familiar with hypnosis. If you've ever driven a car and reached your destination without remembering how you got there – you have been experiencing automatic driving which is a trance state.
During trance the mind is inwardly focused and only passively attentive to the outer environment. Further, it is much more receptive to suggestion than usual; within certain boundaries one becomes less critical of incoming information. It should be mentioned, however, that a person does not act in a manner contrary to their own deeply held values. Occasionally, people harbor misconceptions about hypnosis and trance because movies and science fiction thrillers sometimes depict hypnosis as a means by which an unscrupulous person can achieve control over another. That simply is Hollywood drama and not reality. Hypnosis is not something that another person does to you without your cooperation; if you truly do not want to be hypnotized no one can impose the trance state upon you against your will. Our mind is ever vigilant - even in trance - to protect us from perceived danger.
The open receptivity of mind that accompanies trance can be effectively channeled to promote positive and wanted change within individuals. This is the aim of hypnotherapy - to utilize the mind's capacity to "dream a different dream" with such passion and conviction that meaningful and lasting change becomes possible within those who earnestly seek to grow and modify their behavior or outlook. Hypnosis can be effectively used to eliminate unwanted habits, to overcome fears and phobias, to improve self-confidence, to remember past trauma while developing more effective strategies in coping with the lingering aftermath, and to instill healing imagery. It has been applied at times with dramatic results; for example hypnotherapy has been used as a substitute for anesthesia during surgery or to reduce the size of tumors in cancer patients.
A special application of hypnosis, called Hypnotic Regression, has been helpful in assisting individuals to recover memories locked within the mind that are difficult or impossible to specifically recall during waking consciousness and yet still influence behavior, feelings, and outlook today. Regression can be likened to a type of "psychological archaeology" that can transport a person into deep trance and then to times past for the purposes of self-discovery, transformation and meaningful behavioral/emotional/psychological change in areas that positively effect people in their present, daily lives.
Hypnotic Regression may be applied to cut vertically through time or horizontally through "layers of consciousness." While in hypnotic trance, many individuals are able to access a deeper, more complete understanding of themselves and their potentials than is typical of the ordinary waking state. For lack of a precise vocabulary, it is as if one shifts from the psychological to a spiritual dimension of being. Spirituality in this sense is not to be confused with religious belief or dogma; "spirit" is an energetic essence that exists within us all. From the accounts of those who have encountered Past Life Regression, our spirit is that part of us that transcends time and links us to the Divine. Our human form is reported to drape an awareness that has existed in other bodies and, upon the death of the physical body, will leave to assume other forms. Contained within our spirit are the memories and awareness of all we have been and all who we are.
Hypnotic Regression permits access to memories that are not limited to the brief span of time that consciousness has occupied our physical body. These Spiritual Self memories include remembrance of past lives lived and of the experiences and lessons accrued in what has been termed "Between-Life" states. Through hypnosis it is possible to consciously realise that we are spiritual beings occupying human form, not human beings striving to be spiritual.

When you use your natural ability to easily shift your focus inward, deeply and profoundly, you establish a means through which to communicate with your deeper mind and inner wisdom. You are now able to access and utilize information not normally available consciously, but which, nonetheless, has significant influence on your patterns of behavior. You are then able to identify the underlying cause of an issue, and the deeper beliefs that drive unwanted behaviors, while also reprogramming your deeper mind in positive ways to produce the results you want!
